Pastor Hartwell
Wednesday evening we ventured out to Cooper, Texas! On the way to the Hartwell’s home we stopped at an antique store and sang for the lady who owned it. As we were loading the van we met an elderly gentleman who rides his golfcart through Cooper Town Square. He asked why we were matching and we had the opportunity to sing and give the gospel to him.
The Hartwells, both connoisseurs, prepared an amazingly delicious meal of melt in your mouth BBQ and coleslaw sandwiches, fresh salad with homemade raspberry drizzle, and strawberry shortcake! I’m not sure how we sang after eating so much! He shared “top-secret” recipes and cooking tips- but don’t ask us what they are because we are sworn-to-secrecy ☺ We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Bro. and Mrs. Hartwell, and their son Nate.
Our service at Calvary Baptist Church was so spirited. Bro. Knickerbocker preached on how we should never get over what God has done for us! It was an all-around encouraging meeting. We met the Hartwell’s children and grandchildren (they are so adorable). I believe one of the most difficult things about traveling in a singing group is when you make such sweet memories with fellow believers then have to leave so quickly, but, we had the opportunity to see and tease Bro. Hartwell later at the I.B.F.I. meeting! Thank you Bro. and Mrs. Hartwell, and Nate for you kind hospitality and Calvary Baptist Church for your encouragement and also for stocking up our food pantry for this summer!
