Happy Trails to You, Until We Meet Again!

It’s hard to believe that our summer’s journey has ended. What an amazing time we had- full of God’s provision and protection! We sought to be a blessing to the Pastors and churches we had the opportunity of visiting, but we were the ones who received a blessing. Getting to know such precious men and women of God and learning from their testimonies of faithfulness was a tremendous encouragement. Thank you for those who gave us the opportunity to serve in your churches this summer. The Lord used each one of you to enrich our lives.

Thinking of men and women who love the Lord and have wholly given their lives to Him, we want to express our deepest gratitude to Bro. and Mrs. Knickerbocker for their self-less, Christ-like love and their Godly example to us, each and every day. We learned so many things from them; things we are sure to use over and over as we continue to serve the Lord. Bro. Knickerbocker says often, “Problems are opportunities.” That statement will change your life. Mrs. Knickerbocker has encouraged us to specifically and fervently pray for lost souls. Her mother, received the Lord as her Savior this summer after Mrs. Knickerbocker has prayed many years for her- “Don’t give up on praying for a lost soul.” Above all, we’ve learned from their faithfulness to God in every aspect of ministry, whether it be passing out tracts to everyone we come in contact with, thanking the Lord at all times for His goodness,… or not complaining about roaming the Southwestern United States with four girls and a trailer! We can’t thank you enough for everything you poured into our lives this summer, for your patience, and uplifting spirits. Thank you for giving to the Lord. You’ll reap eternal rewards for all of the times you’ve gone out of the way to be a blessing and given your very best to God. We love you.

Thank you Pastor and Mrs. Sexton for giving us the opportunity to sing and represent the college, and most importantly for the privilege of representing our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank you, Bro. Gray, Bro. Cheney, Mrs. Stancil, Mrs. Segmany, Miss Clark, … for all of the time and “tender-lovin’-care” you gave to further prepare us for, not only, the summer, but how we can better serve God the rest of our lives.

To our families at home, thank you for your constant love and support. We thank the Lord for you. It was you, Mom and Dad, who brought us to know Him. We had the privilege of sharing our testimonies in nearly every church we visited this summer and each of us was led to the Lord by our parents. Thank you for the goodly heritage you have given to us. We love you dearly.

The Lord is really working at Crown Southwest and Norris Seminary. Please pray for the students attending this upcoming semester, and for those who are praying about coming. We are excited to see what the Lord has in store here in Texas! Jeremiah 33:3 says, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not.”

These are our life verses and pieces of our testimonies we pray have stirred the minds and hearts of those we met this summer:

Lindsay-
“My youth pastor asked us to write down if we had surrendered our lives to the Lord and if not, why? I wrote down, “No, because I’m worried about what my future would be like.” One of the first points in his message was ‘A Fear of the Future’ and he said that ‘What God has for you is far better than what you could plan for yourself.’”

“Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” Psalm 37:4-5

Alysha-
“I tried to cover up my doubts by getting involved in church ministries, but nothing worked because I needed God in my life. But I put it off, and I encourage you, if you don’t know the Lord, don’t put it off because that is the worst thing I could have done…Finally, I gave in to the Lord and now I have joy in serving Him!”

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct the paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Grace-
“There is no peace like the peace the Lord Jesus Christ gives. I don’t have to wonder where I will spend eternity because I know- the Bible says that you can know- that if I were to die right now, I would go straight to heaven. If you aren’t sure if you are saved, tell someone today. Don’t wait. We are not guaranteed another day.”

“But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.” Acts 20:24

Alissa-
“I realized that just because I went to church didn’t mean I was going to go to heaven. I had to trust the Lord as my own personal Savior… Coming to college, I’ve learned so much and realize how much more I had to learn! I'm excited to see what the Lord has in store.”

“But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potterl and we all are the work of thy hand.” Isaiah 64:8

Galilean Baptist Church

Cedar Hill, TX
Pastor Brewster

We enjoyed hearing stories about Bro. Lester Roloff and his ministry as we ate with Pastor Brewster at Luby's. The pastor’s wife was the woman who put the Honeybee Quartet together! It was nice to learn more about the man who had such great influence. After we sang, Pastor said that we reminded him of the Honeybee Quartet, especially when we sang a couple of the songs they used to sing. It was a pleasure to get to know the Galilean Baptist Church family. Since this was our last service, it was difficult to sing without thinking of it being our last time, but we enjoyed the opportunity. Thank you for allowing us to come and for the meal, Pastor Brewster. This summer has been a wonderful experience! It was a bittersweet service for us. We packed up our book table for the last time and loaded it in the van for the last time. Glad it all fit! But now, we are on the way home!

Faith Baptist Church

Graham, TX
Pastor Townley

We drove two hours to reach our destination on Sunday morning. Each of us shared one of our favorite parts about going to Crown College, in their teen class; they just heard our salvation testimonies at the Youth Rally on Saturday. During the morning service we sang again. The people were very talkative and friendly. We enjoyed sharing lunch with the Pastor, his wife, and their daughter and son-in-law (who recently found out they are expecting a baby!) Thank you for getting a meal together for us and for inviting us to come! You were a great blessing!

Youth Rally at Crown Southwest and Norris Seminary

Fort Worth, TX
Dan Knickerbocker, Director

Saturday, August 2, we held a Youth Rally at Crown Southwest and Norris Seminary. Over 350 people attended, many of which toured the college before the activities! We had an amazingly wonderful time seeing so many of the teens we’ve met all throughout the summer! Bro. Knickerbocker preached on a generation of faith and several came forward to surrender their lives to the Lord! God blessed tremendously! We were thankful for another chance to share what the Lord has done in our lives- how He saved us and brought us to where we are today. Then we sang several songs. Afterwards, the brave-at-heart played flag football, softball, and volleyball in the 105 degree weather! And others enjoyed games indoors ☺ We are so thankful the Lord has given us the opportunity to know the teens who came. It was like a reunion! Praise the Lord for his goodness in allowing such an incredible attendance and a sweet spirit! (PS. Congratulations to Lauren Gillit, who is now engaged!)
